Seven Decades of Heritage, Faith and Continuity

A journey that connects our past, present and future.

Our History

A Legacy in Singapore

Located at 472 Changi Road, Singapore, Nanyang Zhen Kong Jiao Thian Leng Chong Toh TongĀ carries more than seven decades of history and stands as an important part of the heritage and development of Zhen Kong Jiao in Singapore.

From the early pioneers who travelled south to spread the teachings, to the founding and construction of the temple; from the changing history of the land to the temple that stands today, this journey reflects not only the development of Zhen Kong Jiao in Nanyang, but also the faith, dedication and continuity passed down through generations.

Our History

The History of the Land

In the early history of this area, there were accounts and local references associating the site with an ā€œopium houseā€. However, there is another lesser-known side to this history — the land was also associated with people who sought to distance themselves from opium and make a fresh start in life.
Rather than viewing this part of the past simply through the label of an ā€œopium houseā€, it is perhaps more meaningful to remember the human stories behind it — stories of people seeking to overcome harmful habits and find a new direction in life.
As time passed, the land took on a new purpose and became an important place for the continuation and development of Zhen Kong Jiao in Singapore. Here, the early pioneers spread the teachings and built a place of worship, transforming the site from a chapter of its past into a temple that today continues to embody faith, culture and the spirit of charity.
